Player Hits $10,000 Hole in One at Bright Minds Golf Classic

Amateur golfer Michael Murray hit a $10,000 hole-in-one on the 7th hole at Waverly Woods Golf Club during the 10th Annual Bright Minds Golf Classic charity golf tournament in support of Howard County public school students and educators.

The tournament took place on October 11, 2023 at the Waverly Woods Golf Club in Marriottsville, Maryland. Murray was part of the PSA Insurance & Financial Services team, who have been sponsors of the tournament for 9 years. The PSA foursome included Murray, Matt Moran, Todd Lehman, and Joe Jarboe.

On the 7th hole of the course, Murray sunk a 171 yard shot from the tee box using a Ping 9 Wood and Titlelest ball. The remarkable hit equaled an eagle on the team scorecard and helped Murray’s team finish in 4th place for the day. Murray will collect $10,000 in grand prize money as part of the Bright Minds Golf Classic hole in one contest.

“What a terrific day at the Bright Minds Golf Classic,” Murray shared. “This was a great tournament, very organized and innovative. We couldn’t have asked for better weather or a better cause to support. We had a lot of fun today and to finish the day with a hole in one was just incredible. Thank you for a great afternoon.”

The 11th Annual Bright Minds Golf Classic golf tournament will take place on October 16, 2024.
