During the holiday season, Bright Minds Foundation was fortunate to have been selected as one of the area nonprofits that was featured in the Giving Machine Maryland. Visitors to the Giving Machines at the Mall in Columbia were able to select items to donate to us from this unique vending machine, as easily as they would purchase a bag of chips or a candy bar.
We were thrilled to learn recently that $8,475 worth of Giving Machine items were donated to Bright Minds by generous members of our community. In total, 234 supporters from our community donated:
- 77 preschoolers with little libraries and early literacy support
- 25 students experiencing homelessness with emergency shelter
- 39 students in need with backpacks and critical school supplies
- 18 students with textbooks to make college accessible
- 75 students with socks and other essential supplies
We are so thankful to the Giving Machine Maryland team and the kindness of Howard County residents. To everyone who visited the Light the World Giving Machines in Howard County this holiday season, THANK YOU! Your donations is making a profound impact, bringing hope and meaningful change to so many lives.
